With 20 years’ experience in business management and 25 years’ experience in tertiary industries, John Ray is an experienced and proven entrepreneur.
'I have always worked for blue-chip companies and have worked top to bottom in food and non-food retail businesses. Over the years, I have recruited all levels of staff for flagship retail stores, project managed refits, overseen new store openings of multiple supermarkets at a time, and much more.
For the past 7 years, I have been a regional manager for the leading discounter in the country and part of that role was recruiting for duty managers and upwards. Over the last 25 years, I have worked with some exceptional people, and with a number of these talented individuals, I have formed G & L Ray Consultants. Our aim is to recruit the best people for the right jobs and have great customer satisfaction.'
With 40 years’ experience at a managerial level, I have had the pleasure of working with many great people, leaders and team associates alike.
As a leader myself, I have been heavily involved in the life cycle of an employee from recruitment through to progression. With a varied background across several sectors, including Food Retail, Non-Food, Electrical, Clothing, Telecom, Pharmacy, Food & Beverages, Garden Centres, Franchising, and Wholesale, I have an eye for what makes good managers and team members.
Through my career, I have also gained knowledge within operations, human resources, sales, projects, customer experience and more. Drawing on this knowledge and running single-site, multi-site, and also national roles, I have been privileged to have been involved in all aspects of individuals’ development.
I now turn my hand to recruitment, which is a part of all of my previous roles that I have thoroughly enjoyed the most. Working with John, we aim to understand the needs of our clients and ensure we only secure talented individuals who will enhance your business.
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change we seek.'
